What Do You Do as an Assistant Project Manager at HMVT?
In this role, you will support our project managers in both the preparation and execution phases of various projects. This means you'll be in regular contact with subcontractors, update schedules, maintain project administration, and supervise technicians. You’ll work closely with our planners and have a varied set of responsibilities. One week you may be in the field working on groundwater remediation, while the next you might be diving into the intricacies of process purification. This mix of fieldwork and office-based work ensures that no two weeks are alike. Additionally, we offer the opportunity to grow into a full-fledged project manager. Since we are a relatively small company, you’ll get a lot of responsibility and have direct contact with colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors. This makes it an ideal environment to take significant steps in your career.
What You Love to Do:
- Oversee projects from A to Z.
- Collaborate on innovative environmental remediation projects for air, soil, and water.
- Successfully manage projects with tight deadlines.
- Swiftly coordinate with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Work together with your team to deliver great projects for clients.
- Solve problems and handle unexpected challenges.
- Enjoy the mix of working both in the field and in the office.
Who Will You Work With?
You’ll work closely with project managers, planners, subcontractors, technicians, and project coordinators. At HMVT, you'll be part of a close-knit team that will make you feel welcome and help you get settled. We set high standards and aim to deliver the best possible end product as a team. That’s why we value direct, open, and honest communication—always in a positive atmosphere. Besides work, we regularly organize team outings, summer barbecues, and dinners.
What You Bring:
- A completed MBO or HBO degree in environmental science or civil engineering.
- An interest in the remediation of water, soil, and/or air.
- The ability to plan well and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills: you enjoy organizing things, work in an orderly way, and don’t like half measures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A critical eye—toward your own work and that of others.
- Availability for 32 to 40 hours per week.
